A Syrian national suspected of operating a people smuggling ring has been arrested in Budapest.
Police.hu report that the gang is believed to have transported illegal migrants, mostly Syrians and Afghans, from the Hungary-Serbia border to Austria on at least 33 occasions between October last year and January 2020.
The website adds that the migrants had been organized in groups of 3-6 people. The police earlier detained one of the drivers and a coordinator of the gang.
