Hungary's health authority has issued a heat alert for the rising temperatures up until Friday, it has been announced.
The human resources ministry’s public health secretariat has issued first and second-level heat alerts for the entirety of Hungary and warned of high daytime temperatures.
Average temperatures are set to exceed 27 °C, especially in northwest and southeast Hungary.
The highest temperatures are expected to hit 38 °C. The ministry warned people to stay away from the sun and avoid intense physical activity.
Heat alerts are issued when the medium temperature is 27 degrees Celsius or above for at least three consecutive days.
