Hungarian beer wins prize at top Czech beer competition

Hungary has won a top beer prize at one of the world's leading beer competitions held in the Czech Republic.

Szent András Brewery in Hungary won a bronze medal for its sour cherry beer at the Zlatá Pivní pečeť 2017 competition. The brewery's Óarany beer also made it into the finals.

This year, more than 1,000 beers, from nearly 200 breweries and 20 countries competed for 95 awards at the annual event.

The most prestigious award – the Zltatá Pečet - went to Mayzus, Český Krumlov and Nová Sladovna breweries from the Czech Republic.
