Young Hungarian carpenter Krisztián Simon has won the gold medal in the cabinet making category of the 45th World Skills competition in Kazan, Russia.

Hungarian carpenter Krisztián Simon has won the gold medal in the cabinet making category of the 45th World Skills competition in Kazan, Russia.

Rmx.news points out that Simon’s victory and an additional 11 medals of excellence, helped the 22-strong Hungarian team reach its best result ever, placing 20th among the 63 participating countries and regions.

The World Skills competition for young professionals has 56 vocational categories from aircraft maintenance through floristry to web technologies.

László Parragh, President of the Hungarian Chamber for Industry and Commerce, told national MTI that the results again confirmed the high level of vocational training in Hungary.
