Hungarian government committed to upholding press freedom

Gergely Gulyás underlined the importance of a diverse media landscape, saying that he believed Hungary had greater media diversity than western European countries.

 

Commenting on reports that Index may come under increasing pressure to toe the government’s line following the resignation of its chief executive, the prime minister’s chief of staff, Gergely Gulyás, said the government was committed to upholding press freedom guaranteed by the country’s constitution and media law.
