The Hungarian government has announced that it will be divided into two government cabinets for greater speed and efficency.
Based on a decision made by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the work of the government will be divided into an economic cabinet and a strategic cabinet, János Lázár, the minister heading the Prime Minister's office, and Zoltán Kovács, government spokesperson, confirmed during their weekly press conference.
“The government is expecting the reorganization of government tasks to result in greater speed and efficiency," Zoltán Kovács said.
On the reasons for the reshuffle, Kovács said that the experiences of the past two years indicate that the efficiency of the pre-decision preparation process must be improved.
“Preparing for decisions within the area of the economy and strategy will be the main task of the two new cabinets that are being established," he added.
“Both cabinets will be chaired by a minister and will be decision-making and preparing bodies with set topics and issues according to the decision of Prime Minister Orbán," Minister Lázár explained.
The cabinets will be government agencies which will be in charge of the preparation and adoption of decisions. Based on Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s decision, topics, issues and affairs will be delegated to the cabinets.
