Hungarian men’s handball team advances to main round of European Championship

The Hungarians beat Iceland 24-18 in the qualifying round, securing first place in their group.

The Hungarian men’s handball team has advanced to the main round of the European Championship after beating Iceland and pushing Denmark out of group E.

The Hungarians beat Iceland 24-18 in the qualifying round, securing first place in their group. 

The stakes are high for the seven teams competing at the EHF Euro2020 event, as two Olympic qualifying places can be won at the championship. Hungary, Iceland, Slovenia, Portugal, Austria, Czech Republic and Belarus are fighting for these places.

The Hungarian team will continue the event with four more difficult matches in the semi-finals, against Norway, Slovenia, Sweden and Portugal respectively.
