The Hungarian Post and Bp2017 have presented ceremonial stamps to the 17th FINA World Championships to celebrate the event coming to Hungary.
The stamp unveiling ceremony took place in City Park, at the venue where the synchronized swimming discipline will be held.
Guests were welcomed by Sándor Balogh, Chief Financial Officer of Bp2017 Nonprofit LLC: "At the end of March FINA delegates visited our country, and they were absolutely satisfied with the organizing. Organizing world championships is a huge task, but enormous success as well. The event of July can be considered as one of the four most prestigious events in the world attracting tens of thousands of tourists to Hungary and TV broadcast is also followed by millions," he said.
Katinka Hosszú, three-time Olympic, five-time world and thirteen-time European swimming champion was also present.
The special stamp issued by the Hungarian Post can be purchased at designated post offices and branch offices for 435 HUF (1.40 EUR). 200.000 stamps have been produced in total.
Hungary is set to play host to more than 350,000 spectators, including 85,000 foreigners, at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships, which will be held in Budapest and at Lake Balaton from July 14 to 30.
