Hungarian property prices have increaed the most out of 28 European countries in the past year, it has been revealed.
Statistics released by Eurostat show that prices in the third quarter of 2016 have increased by 11.6 percent in just one year, which far exceeds the 4.3 percent average measured in the EU.
While results from 2015 showed an increase in property prices across the whole country, results from 2016 show varying degrees of price increases depending on region.
Property prices in Budapest increased by 20 percent, properties in cities increased by 10 percent, while villages experienced a 15 percent drop. Stats also showed that the price of an apartment in Budapest cost the same as five properties in Nógrád county.
