Hungarians raise money for those impacted by natural disasters

Over a dozen Hungarian organizations in Florida have launched a donation drive through the Hungarian Community Church for those impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Hungarians living in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina have launched donation drives to help Hungarians who have been impacted by natural disasters in the last three weeks.

Zsuzsi Kozma, head of the Carolinas Hungarian Group, said several families had reached out to the group after last month's hurricane and floods.

She said the organization has offered to donate 3,000 dollars to those impacted by the disasters, which was later doubled by small private donations. She said there were still some Hungarians in North and South Carolina without internet, though they have had their power restored.
