Hungary’s national football team begin their quest for World Cup glory against the Faroe Islands tonight.
The Hungarian team will kick-off their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign in Torshavn at 20.45 Central European time this evening.
Hungary will also face two other teams who reached the knockout stages of Euro 2016 – Switzerland and winners Portugal – in addition to Latvia and Andorra.
From the nine European qualifying groups, only the winners will go through with the eight best second-placed teams contesting a play-off round for the last four places.
The Hungarian team is reported to be fully fit and will train today in the stadium where the match will be played to prepare for their match.
It is not yet known who will replace goalkeeper Gábor Király, who announced his retirement from international football after Euro 2016.
