Hungary considers it an honor to hold V4 presidency

Brexit had demonstrated that the wills of member states cannot be overridden. Both the values and interests of Europe’s nations must be considered

The V4 Group is “now much more meaningful” than in the past, Pál Völner, parliamentary state secretary at the Ministry of Justice, has said.

Völner made the remarks at an event marking Hungary’s takeover of the rotating presidency of the Visegrad Group in Vienna on Tuesday.

According to MTI, the state secretary said the V4 alliance displays cooperation with the EU and the importance of “not trampling on” the varying needs of Europe’s regions.

Völner said that the V4 countries take cooperation seriously for the greater good of Europe, and Hungary considers it an honor to hold the group’s presidency.

The secretary said that Brexit had demonstrated that the wills of member states cannot be overridden, adding that both the values and interests of Europe’s nations must be considered.
