According to Hungary's national police headquarters, 5,246 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Wednesday, while another 4,382 from Ukraine crossed via Romania. Police issued temporary residence permits valid for 30 days to 544 people. Holders of such permits must contact a local immigration office near their place of residence within 30 days to apply for permanent documents. Budapest police received 77 refugees, 43 children among them, by train.
