Hungary has the highest number of social media users in Europe, according to figures released by Eurostat.
The study found that 83 percent of internet users in Hungary use social media, which is 20 percent above the European Union average.
Eurostat’s report on Digital Economy and Society in the European Union polled 6,018 people in Hungary and found that 97 percent of people aged between 16-24 are social media users.
The study also looked at video-sharing services and found that 68 percent of Hungarians aged between 16-74 enjoy channels such as YouTube.
Experts claim that the latest findings, along with the development of the latest 5G technology, and many R&D projects in the pipeline, shows trends in the country indicate Hungary is a forward-thinking technology hub and is well-positioned for futured digital developments.
