Hungary has been hit by some of the worst floods it has seen this year. A selection of startling images highlight how destructive mother nature can be following an extraordinary storm on Tuesday.
Areas in Budapest became submerged under several feet of water yesterday, and the problems persist throughout the country today.
Shops and cars have been damaged, subway stations closed, major traffic delays are still being felt, cables are down and trees have been uprooted.
One source said that "Budapest looked like a scene from the movie 2012", where floods obliterated most of the world.
According to weather forecasts, storms and rains showers are expected today and throughout the rest of the week, not just in Budapest but right across Hungary.
