Hungary sends its condolences to Macedonia following floods

At least 21 people died and dozens were injured in the Macedonian floods. The youngest victim was just seven years old

Hungary has expressed its condolences to the families of the Macedonian flood victims.

Speaker of the Parliament László Kövér has expressed condolences to Macedonian counterpart Trajko Veljanovski over the tragic consequences of recent extreme weather conditions in Macedonia.

Kövér’s letter addressed to Veljanovski was made available to the MTI news agency on Tuesday.

“On behalf of parliament and myself, I would like to express my deepest shock and extend my sincere condolences after witnessing the tragic consequences of the extreme weather and resulting floods that hit the Macedonian Republic. We share the bereavement of victims’ acquaintances and friends,” Kövér said.

A storm hit Macedonia on Saturday evening, involving strong winds, floods and landslides. At least 21 people died and dozens were injured, including 22 in hospital with fractures and bruises. The youngest victim was just seven years old.
