Hungary has been voted the hosts of the 2027 FINA World Championship swimming competition.
According to Rmx.news, Budapest will be among an elite group of only six cities around the world who have had the opportunity to host the event twice (the other five being Perth, Rome, Barcelona, Fukuoka and Kazan, Russia).
Budapest was selected among seven competitors and FINA President Julio C. Malone said he had every confidence that Hungary will again be an excellent host.
“Two years ago the Hungarian capital hosted the most successful world championship ever and there is no doubt that it will again deserve the trust placed in it,” Malone said after the unanimous decision.
