Hungary to receive 10,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine on December 26

Hungary will receive 10,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine on December 26 and the vaccination of healthcare workers can begin at Budapest’s South Pest Central Hospital the following day.

Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller has revealed that Hungary will receive 10,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine on December 26 and the vaccination of healthcare workers can begin at Budapest’s South Pest Central Hospital the following day.

According to MTI, Müller said that every European Union member country will receive the first shipment of the vaccine on the same day. The official documents for the vaccine already arrived on Tuesday, including the information that must be given to those who get vaccinated and instructions on administering the jab. After getting all the necessary information, recipients of the vaccine will have to fill out a health questionnaire and a statement declaring that they agree to getting the shot. After receiving the vaccine, they will be monitored for 20 minutes and given a card saying when they must receive a second jab, which is necessary to get full immunity, she said.

Meanwhile, Róbert Kiss said that on Tuesday, the authorities took action against 276 people for violating mask-wearing rules. Of those, 106 received warnings, 84 were fined and police filed reports against 58 people. Police have taken action in 15,408 cases due to people neglecting to wear masks or wearing them incorrectly since the government decree on stricter coronavirus-related defense measures entered into force on Sept. 21, he added.
