The Central Statistical Office (KSH) has confirmed that Hungary’s July trade surplus stood at 204 million euros in a second reading of data released on Wednesday.

In KSH’s first reading, the July surplus was estimated at 276 million euros. According to MTI, revised figures show imports increased by an annual 9.2 percent in value terms to 8.862 billion euros, while exports rose by 8.3 percent to 9.066 billion.

The trade surplus narrowed by 53 million euros from the same month a year earlier. In volume terms, exports rose by 8.1 percent, while imports were up 9.6 percent.

Exports of machinery and transport equipment grew by 13 percent in volume terms. Food, drinks and tobacco exports increased by 5.5 percent, while energy exports fell by 16 percent. Exports of manufactured goods increased by 4.8 percent.
