Hungary’s expansion project to Route 67 will not only see renovation works take place but will also make it into a musical road.
According to Curbed, the Austrian contractor rebuilding and widening the road is adding special rumble strips to a section of the route to play a tune.
Reports suggest that the rumble strips mounted on the surface create audible vibrations when driven over. Once vehicles hit the correct speed the vibrations will play Hungarian rock ballad 67-es út, Route 67.
“This project shows how much creativity there can be in transportation infrastructures," Thomas Birtel, chief executive of contractor Strabag, said. “We are delighted to be able to realize this interesting project for Hungary’s national infrastructure company.”
