Hungary's chief security advisor has said that Italian politicians could open the floodgates for African migrants to head over to Europe.
György Bakondi, chief security advisor to the Prime Minister, said “Italy’s reaction to mass illegal immigration is changing day by day."
He said Italian politicians have realized that the distribution of illegal immigrants would be good for Italy, meaning the African migrants there could be redirected to other European countries.
However, a decision of this kind would most certainly be viewed as a “letter if invitation” by the masses of people waiting in Africa to set out for Europe, and would be highly damaging to the continent.
Reports state that Italy has threatened to close its ports to refugee rescue ships as it hits breaking point in the ever growing migrant crisis.
Roughly 10,000 migrants have been shipped in to Italy's shores in the past few days, and crossings from Libya show no sign of slowing down. The migrant crisis is worsening, according to experts.
