Oscar-winning martial arts actor Jackie Chan was guest of honor at the Chinese Film Festival in Budapest over the weekend.
The event took place at the Uránia National Film Theatre on Sunday, where Zoltán Balog, minister of Human Capacities, met with the actor to promote Chinese culture in Hungary.
Balog said that “the Chinese and the Hungarians, the Chinese and the Europeans, have a common language, and this common language is none other than the language of culture, which we would like to speak as often as possible and with increasing loudness”.
“We would very much like, and are providing all possible support for, the Chinese Cultural Institute to open in Budapest soon," the minister added.
Balog also mentioned that in June, Hungary would be hosting an international conference with the participation of China’s minister of Health and the relevant ministers of every Central European country, one of the main topics of which will be Chinese medicine.
