Justice Minister: European left-wing parties would silence everyone they disagree with

“More respect for Central Europe! More respect for Central European citizens!” the justice minister said.

Justice Minister Judit Varga said European left-wing parties would silence everyone they disagree with if they get the opportunity.

Minister Varga said on Facebook that left-liberal MEP Sophie In ’t Veld had recently censored Slovenia’s Prime Minister Janez Jansa. She “absurdly” denied Jansa’s request to present a video at a hearing of the European Parliament’s working group on media freedom in Slovenia. On Tuesday, Jansa called on the MEP to leave her post heading the EP democracy monitoring group.

“We know Mrs. In ‘t Veld well, her favorite hobby for decades has been to slander Hungary,” Minister Varga said “The MEP of the meeting rejected the request of the Slovenian Prime Minister, thus embroiling herself into self-contradictions while using a didactic tone,” Minister Varga added.

This event was further evidence that the “rule of law” sessions were not about democracy and fundamental rights, but about the political witch-hunts against right-wing-governments-led countries, she said. “More respect for Central Europe! More respect for Central European citizens!” she added.
