Hungary’s Kristóf Milák has won gold at the LEN European Aquatic Championships in Glasgow.
What’s more the swimmer broke the championship record in the 200m butterfly final, clocking a super fast time of 1:52.79. Fellow Hungarian Tamas Kenderesi came second with a time of 1:54.36.
Milák’s time clocked in the Hungarian nationals earlier this year (1:52.71) remains the European Junior and World Junior record, and is just .01 short of the overall European (and Hungarian) records.
Milák’s performance in Glasgow on Sunday is the 8th-fastest performance recorded in swimming history and remains third behind only Cseh (1:52.70) and Michael Phelps (1:51.51) in the 200m butterfly discipline.
