Lázár: Government making "strenuous efforts" to boost economic ties with Romania

The Hungarian government is making strenuous efforts to boost economic ties with Romania.

János Lázár, the minister of construction and transport, held talks in Budapest on Thursday with Attila Cseke, Romania’s development and public works minister. Lázár said developing transport infrastructure between the two countries and making the borders more permeable are key goals. He sought to assure Cseke of Hungary’s commitment to supporting Romania’s bid to join the Schengen zone. On this score, Cseke thanked the Hungarian government for its support, and he praised bilateral economic ties which produced trade worth 15 billion euros last year.
