Most expensive apartment in Hungary to sell for 1.5 million euros

An apartment in Budapest is set to sell for 1.5 million euros (500 million HUF), making it the most expensive property in Hungary.

According to Szeretlek Magyarország, a new penthouse is being built in the heart of Budapest that will cost 9,500 euros (3 million HUF) per square meter, and will be 140 square meters in size.

The mansard apartment will offer a 24-hour reception service, hotel services (such as breakfast, laundry, cleaning services, valet parking), shops, terraces and other perks.

We recently revealed how districts 5, 6, 1, 2 and 12 are the most expensive and desirable places to live in Budapest.

Property prices are reaching way above and beyond the average 600,000 HUF per square meter in the most expensive parts of the city.

According to portfolio.hu, the cheapest district to live in is the 23rd, closely followed by the 21st, the 20th and the 10th.

The most popular districts are the 13th, the 14th and the 11th where around 3,000 flats were sold in the first half of 2017.

The most expensive street is in the 5th district, Vigadó Square where the average price is 1.8 million HUF per square meter. There are also other streets in the 5th, 6th, 1st and 2nd districts where prices can reach more than 1 million HUF per square meter.

Balatonfüred also faired well in the survey, where prices can reach an average of 786,000 HUF per square meter.
