A new 1,000 HUF banknote will be issued on March 1st, 2018, it has been announced.
According to reports, the old version of the note will still be accepted by commercial premises up until October 31st, 2018.
Despite being axed from public circulation at the end of October, the old 1,000 HUF note can still be exchanged for the new note at Hungarian commercial banks and post offices for up to 3 years, while the Hungarian National Bank will do this for up to 20 years.
