New home prices in Budapest up 12.2% in a year

Prices were highest in the central 5th district and lowest in the 15th district, the only district in the capital where the average price was below 1,000,000 forints per sqm.

Real estate broker Otthon Centrum has revealed that average new home prices in the capital rose in the second quarter by 1.3% on a quarterly basis to 1,582,000 forints (EUR 4,264) per sqm and were up by 12.2% compared to the same period last year. Average new home prices in Budapest varied between 932,000 forints per sqm and 3,081,000 per sqm, Otthon Centrum chief analyst Gábor Soóki-Tóth said. Prices were highest in the central 5th district and lowest in the 15th district, the only district in the capital where the average price was below 1,000,000 forints per sqm, he said.
