Finance Minister Mihály Varga inaugurated a new section of the M4 motorway between Abony and Törökszentmiklós, in eastern Hungary on Tuesday.
During the ceremony, the minister noted the 27-kilometer section cost HUF 125 billion (EUR 351m) to build. Hungary’s motorway network now totals 1,900 kilometers, up from 1,300 kilometers in 2010, he added. In the past three years alone, over 100 kilometers of motorways have been built, with most of the funding from domestic sources, the minister said.
