Number of graduates on the rise in Hungary

The ratio of people with a higher education degree in Hungary has increased by 7.6 percentage points to 34 percent.

The ratio of people with a higher education degree has increased by 7.6 percentage points to 34 percent thus Hungary has honored its pledge made in the EU 2020 program.

Figures released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) show that among the Visegrád countries, the ratio of higher education graduates is higher in Poland at 46 percent and Slovakia at 38 percent, while the Czech Republic is on par with Hungary.

In a wider EU-wide comparison, the ratio of graduates is above 40 percent in Lithuania, Finland, Sweden and Ireland, but under 20 percent in Romania and Italy.
