The national police headquarters announced that 4,664 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Monday, while another 5,510 from Ukraine crossed from Romania. Police issued temporary residence permits valid for 30 days to 504 people. Holders of such permits must contact a local immigration office near their place of residence within 30 days to apply for permanent documents. Budapest police received 466 refugees, 232 children among them, by train, according to the municipal police website.
