Over 17,000 refugees arrived in Hungary on Sunday alone

According to the national police headquarters (ORFK), 7,055 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Sunday, while another 10,112 from Ukraine crossed from Romania. Police issued temporary residence permits valid for thirty days to 465 people, ORFK told MTI. Holders of such permits must contact a local immigration office near their place of residence within thirty days to apply for permanent documents, it added. Budapest received 545 people, 170 children among them, by train, ORFK said.
