"The war is over, 2025 will be the first year of peace, and it is now possible to think brave and big," Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Thursday.
PM Orbán said the liberal West was "finished" and the whole world was undergoing transformation, when everyone must select and occupy a new place.
"Every nation can grab its own field-marshal's baton: some will throw it in the fire and have a wild night but others will use it to set up a team, to show direction and push ahead," he said, opening the CODE Centre of Digital Experiences in Veszprém, in western Hungary.
"We Hungarians have always wished for peace, freedom and creation," he added. "We have been waiting to make Hungary great again," he said.
PM Orbán said this "cannot succeed in headwind but can succeed in downwind". He added that the wind was blowing in the right direction from the Atlantic Ocean, so it was only necessary to turn the wind from Brussels.
"The war is over, 2025 will be the first year of peace ... it is now possible and necessary to think brave and big," he said. He added that the time had come to try something that had long been in the making, such as implementing the greatest tax cuts in Europe.
