PM Orbán discussed migration and Hungary-U.S. relations with President Trump

PM Orbán and former US President Donald Trump discussed mutual political support, Hungarian-American relations and migration in a phone call on Tuesday evening, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister's press chief, told Hungarian news agency MTI.

During the telephone conversation on Tuesday, Donald Trump congratulated PM Orbán on the outstanding results of the Hungarian economy and said that he would be rooting for Viktor Orbán in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.

PM Orbán thanked Trump for his political support and assured him that Hungary will continue to be a good ally of the United States of America. The prime minister congratulated the former US President on his campaign event in Arizona, where Donald Trump said that in 2024 they will take back the White House.

During the phone call, PM Orbán and President Trump reviewed the migration crisis affecting both Hungary and the United States, and concluded that illegal immigration must be curbed at all costs in order to protect our nations.
