Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was in Beijing, China over the weekend taking part in the third Belt and Road summit and holding talks with Chinese leaders.
PM Orbán previously addressed two such summits held in 2017 and 2019 and underlined how Hungary is committed to long-term cooperation in the future. China is Hungary’s ninth top trading partner as well as its largest foreign direct investor, with companies of Chinese ownership employing close to 20,000 people in the country. PM Orbán met counterpart Li Qiang and President Xi Jinping, and he is scheduled to meet the heads of the largest Chinese companies and banks.
