PM Orbán: Hungary-Weber conflict not German but a Brussels problem

Weber “is one of our oldest opponents, enemies in European politics," PM Orbán said.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said conflicts between Hungary and Manfred Weber, the leader of the European People’s Party (EPP), are not conflicts between Hungary and Germany, but between Brussels and Hungary. After meeting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, PM Orbán said those conflicts did not weigh on the country’s cooperation with Germany. Manfred Weber “is a Hungarophobic person, he hates Hungarians”, PM Orbán said, adding that the EPP leader blamed Hungarians for not having been elected president of the European Commission. Weber “is one of our oldest opponents, enemies in European politics," PM Orbán said.
