PM Orbán meets Marine Le Pen in Budapest

The pair discussed the political representation of families and national and Christian values, a focal point of both parties’ policies.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held a meeting with Marine Le Pen, the parliamentary group leader of the French National Rally party in the National Assembly, in Budapest on Wednesday.

PM Orbán, also the head of Hungary’s ruling Fidesz party, discussed with Le Pen the strengthening position of European right-wing parties in view of the 2024 European parliamentary elections. PM Orbán and Le Pen agreed that national conservatives must find a joint, determined response to the EU’s “imperialistic ambitions, failed economic policy and pro-migration initiatives”, he said. They also discussed the political representation of families and national and Christian values, a focal point of both parties’ policies.
