PM Orbán outlines Hungary-Germany relations as “strategically important”

“Europe today faces challenges that make cooperation between [EU] member states on the basis of mutual respect more important than ever,” PM Orbán said.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has sent a letter thanking German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for congratulating him on winning Hungary’s general election and called for Hungarian-German ties to be developed further. “Europe today faces challenges that make cooperation between [EU] member states on the basis of mutual respect more important than ever,” PM Orbán wrote in the letter. The prime minister assured the German chancellor that he was ready to work with him, saying that he regards the development of relations between Hungary and Germany as “strategically important”.

According to a statement posted on the German federal government’s website earlier, Scholz congratulated PM Orbán on his repeated success in the Hungarian parliamentary election and wished him good luck in performing future tasks.
