PM Orbán: Saturday will be the day of one million encounters on election campaign trail

The prime minister held talks with the local mayor before meeting other mayors in the south of Budapest region.

Meeting locals on the campaign trail in Dabas, south of Budapest, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, leader of the ruling Fidesz party, said that “a last big effort is needed for our victory.” “This is why we will embark on our largest ever campaign finish event, dubbed the Day of One Million Encounters,” he said, adding that on Saturday, the last day before the June 9 EP and local elections, 50,000 Fidesz activists will be on a mission to reach out to one million people in person and encourage them to cast their ballots. “I myself will also be participating in that personal campaign drive because the stakes are huge: peace or war, that is what we are going to decide about. So, Saturday will be the Day of One Million Encounters,” PM Orbán said.
