Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a Facebook post on Wednesday: "A moment of truth will come tomorrow with the imperial Brussels elite on one side and patriots and common sense on the other."
PM Orbán said he was expecting a "chaotic" session in the European Parliament with "MEPs voting on whether Ursula von der Leyen should continue at the helm of Brussels bureaucracy". He said the vote had been triggered by "more and more corruption cases around the EP president" but added that "we all know that corruption is but the tip of the iceberg ... there is more at stake, it is about aptitude, achievements, and the future of Europe."
Under Von der Leyen's leadership, "Europe's competitiveness has been ruined, European energy prices are soaring, illegal migration is raging, the gender ideology is mandatory, the war in Ukraine is a meat mincer, European farmers are nearing bankruptcy, and the senseless green ideology rules," PM Orbán said.
But, PM Orbán said, "a choice will have to be made tomorrow," adding that "leadership is responsibility" and calling on Von der Leyen to step down.
