PM's Political Director: Leaders of Europe have 'started scrambling in a panic'

"Hungary is the only European country that has consistently taken a pro-peace stance, and this has earned great respect around the world and is creating many opportunities for Hungary".

Referring to peace talks between the US and Russia regarding the war in Ukraine, Balázs Orbán, the PM's Political Director, said the leaders of Europe "started scrambling in a panic", despite the fact that "everything goes according to the script, except that according not to theirs, but that of [Hungarian Prime Minister] Viktor Orbán".

In a video on Facebook, Balázs Orbán noted the report the Hungarian prime minister had sent to every European head of state last July, after the peace mission's first phase, saying that if elected US president, Donald Trump would immediately start peace talks between the US and Russia.

"And that is what happened. And he also said that if the Europeans didn't come up with a peace strategy, the Russians and the Americans will then agree over their heads."

"And it is exactly what is happening. But leaders in Brussels were flabbergasted and convened for an emergency meeting in Paris. Last summer we received harsh criticism and labelled Putin's servants, among other things; and we were right all along," Orban said.

"Hungary is the only European country that has consistently taken a pro-peace stance, and this has earned great respect around the world and is creating many opportunities for Hungary". "And we, Hungarians, will seize these opportunities," the political director added.
