Pope Francis appoints Fábry as auxiliary bishop of Esztergom-Budapest archdiocese

Kornél Fábry was until now director of the Pastoral Institute of the Hungarian Episcopal Conference.

Pope Francis has appointed Kornél Fábry, of the clergy of the diocese of Kaposvár, as auxiliary bishop of the metropolitan archdiocese of Esztergom-Budapest, assigning him the titular see of Guardialfiera, the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference (HCBC) said in a statement. Fábry was until now director of the Pastoral Institute of the Hungarian Episcopal Conference, the statement added. Fábry was born in 1972 in Budapest, carried out his philosophical and theological studies at the Central Seminary of Budapest, was ordained a priest in 2000 and incardinated in the diocese of Kaposvár. He is a member of the Emmanuel Community.
