Pope Francis thanks Hungary for "loving hospitality” during visit

The pope said he had “felt the love of each Hungarian” during his visit between April 28-30.

Speaking at his General Audience in Saint Peter’s Square on Wednesday, Pope Francis thanked Hungary’s authorities, the Hungarian Catholic Church, and the country’s people for “the loving hospitality” during his recent visit to Budapest. The pope said he had “felt the love of each Hungarian” during his visit between April 28-30. Francis highlighted the “humanitarian bridge” Hungary offered to people fleeing the war in Ukraine. He said Hungary was “building bridges to secure society’s future and in terms of a dialogue between the churches.” The pontiff appealed for the Virgin Mary’s help in protecting Hungary and making peace in the world.
