President Áder expresses Hungary’s condolences over Turkey earthquake tragedy

President Áder said the Turkish people can rely on Hungary’s help and participation in the rebuilding of the damaged towns and villages.

President János Áder has expressed Hungary’s condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives in a recent earthquake in Turkey.

In a letter addressed to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President Áder said he was deeply saddened by news of the tragic earthquake which claimed many lives and more than 1,000 people had been injured.

The president said Hungarians had heartfelt sympathy with the relatives of the victims and wished a quick recovery to those injured. He added that the Turkish people can rely on Hungary’s help and participation in the rebuilding of the damaged towns and villages.

Meanwhile, House Speaker László Kövér sent a letter to Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Mustafa Şentop expressing his condolences on behalf of Hungarian lawmakers.
