Hungarian athletes who win gold at the Olympic Games in Rio this year will receive 35 million HUF (or, 112,000 Euros) in prize money, the newspaper Bors has reported.
Silver medal wins will each receive 25 million HUF and bronze medalists 20 million, paid to them by the state of Hungary.
What's more, athletes who place within the final eight of each discipline will receive cash bonuses.
According to reports, the total prize money fund this year will remain unchanged from 2012.
The newspaper added that athletes, who in the past were awarded prize money only for their three best results, will be awarded handsomely for all of their results in Rio. This means athletes can increase their prize fund depending on how well they do.
Good luck team Rio!
