South Korean investment in Hungary will create 300 new jobs

The foreign minister has confirmed that agreements have been signed on HUF 70 billion (EUR 211.6m) worth of investments, making South Korea Hungary’s largest foreign investor in 2019.

The foreign minister has revealed that the investments made by four South Korean companies in Hungary worth a combined HUF 70 billion (EUR 211.6m) will create 300 new jobs.

Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, confirmed that the agreements on the investments were signed on Thursday, making South Korea Hungary’s largest foreign investor in 2019.

Following talks with his South Korean counterpart Kang Kyung-wha in Seoul, the minister said the total value of South Korean investments in Hungary is expected to reach a record HUF 900 billion this year, with the bulk of the investments being made in the auto and health industries.
