Storms continue across Hungary causing widespread damage and injury

The Hungarian Meteorological Service reported that in the following days, the estimated windstorm speeds could reach 60-70 km/h

The Hungarian Disaster Control Service have been alerted more than 3,700 times in the past few days, 140 of those cases reported the damage of buildings.

According to MTI, the Hungarian National Directorate General for Disaster Management confirmed that the recent wndy and stormy weather had caused huge destruction right acros Hungary, and some personal injuries.

Other reports state that power lines were blown down and electric blackouts still affect around 83 Hungarian settlements. In these villages and towns, police officers were responsible for the supervision of order until the electricity was restored.
