The average student rental rate has hit 490 euros a month in Budapest, according to reports today.
Ingatlan.com says that student rental accommodation is being advertised for 150,000 HUF (490 EUR) a month on average in Budapest.
Rents vary depending on district. Apartments in the central 5th and 6th districts can reach 228,000 HUF (745 EUR) per month. In the downtown parts of Budapest, prices drop to around 90,000 HUF (294 EUR) a month.
Student accommodation in other parts of Hungary is more affordable. In Szeged prices average 90,000 HUF a month, while in Pecs and Debrecen around 82,000 HUF a month. In Miskolc, in the north-east, rents are just 68,000 HUF a month.
