The Onyx restaurant in Budapest has become the first in Hungary to receive two Michelin stars.
The restaurant was awarded the prize at the Michelin Star Gala earlier this week and Onyx chef Ádám Mészáros stepped up to receive the prestigious honor.
Onyx won its first star in 2016 under Szabina Szullo and Tamás Széll. Mészáros and his team have been working hard to keep the star ever since and have done much to improve upon the previous team.
Costes, Costes Downtown and Borkonyha all managed to retain their stars – bringing Hungary’s Michelin star restaurant total to four.
The Michelin Guide 2018 also includes the Olimpia Restaurant run by Tamás Széll and the Stand 25, which received the Bib Gourmand award for offering good food at moderate prices.
