As Hungary’s April 8th general election approaches, polls forecast Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's ruling alliance as the winner.
According to Reuters, the prime minister’s ruling Fidesz party remains the runaway leader in the polls less than three weeks before the elections.
Surveys from Publicus and Zavecz Research place Fidesz firmly in first place with right-wing opposition party Jobbik a distant second. The Socialists (MSZP) are far behind in third place.
The rulling alliance - comprising Fidesz and its Christian Democrat ally, KDNP - has the backing of around 30 percent of voters, with no other party clearing 20 percent in any poll.
Reports suggest that PM Orbán’s campaign with a strong anti-immigration focus will secure him a third consecutive term in the April 8th ballot.
